On June 19, 2025, CATO started its 'Books as Torches, Lighting the Future' reading club. Teacher Lin from Action Education led the first session, using a three-stage approach to help the organization grow. Everyone read 'Kyocera Philosophy' together, using reading to help the enterprise advance towards becoming a world-class brand.

On June 19, 2025, the "Books as Torch, Illuminating the Future" Reading Club of CATO Precision officially kicked off in a warm atmosphere. As a fast-paced lifestyle becomes the norm, we need to carve out an oasis for the mind more than ever—opening a book unlocks the world, and sharing insights awakens intellectual resonance.
Teacher Lin from Action Education led us to revisit the value of reading by starting with the question, "Why Read?" She noted, "All outstanding minds are inseparable from books." Whether for personal growth or corporate development, reading serves as a silent lever—General Manager Lin's years of consistent learning exemplifies how reading profoundly shapes leadership and strategic thinking. For enterprises, the reading club's value unfolds in three stages: Ideology Alignment Meeting (unifying strategic cognition), Special Improvement Meeting (tackling pain points), and Talent Growth Meeting (unleashing organizational potential), ultimately achieving "the lowest-cost collective learning, the easiest consensus-building, the highest participation in co-creation, and the fastest implementation."
The reading club's success hinges on the synergy of people, time, and processes: General Manager Lin personally guides the middle-to-top management team to promote company-wide collective learning; through the rhythm of "one book per month, two hours of in-depth discussion," reading naturally integrates into the pulse of corporate development. A closed-loop process is established—from strategy-driven book selection (focusing on long-term goals of building a world-class technical brand and solving immediate pain points) to practical improvement—making books a real ladder for strategy implementation.
Drawing wisdom from the Tao Te Ching, General Manager Lin proposed the mission of "Change Thinkers": with the resilience to "let the softest thing in the world ride over the hardest," breaking free from black-and-white thinking cages and making innovation a "muscle memory." She shared the procurement department's transformation as a testament to the power of shared reading—individual persistence is like fireflies, but collective tempering forms a torch.
In the first reading club session, we will collectively study Kyocera Philosophy, highly recommended by General Manager Lin, to explore the path for CATO to become a world-class brand through Kazuo Inamori's management philosophy. In the future, we hope every page of the book will become a guide to action, and every sharing will ignite sparks of innovation—for reading is not just a ladder to progress but a journey undertaken by all.
Those who know others are wise; those who know themselves are enlightened.
Those who conquer others are powerful; those who conquer themselves are stronger.
May CATO members use books as wings to write new chapters for the enterprise and individuals alike in the pursuit of self-awareness and transcendence.
