Dongguan CPPCC Delegation Visits CATO: Pooling Efforts to Tackle Core Technologies and Boost Future Industrial Layout

On April 23, a Dongguan CPPCC delegation visited CATO to survey its progress in core technologies such as 5‑axis CNC systems, high‑precision spindles, and linear motor drives. The delegation highly recognized CATO’s breakthroughs in breaking foreign technological barriers and empowering strategic sectors like aerospace, new energy vehicles, and humanoid robotics.
On April 23, a research delegation led by Lyu Jing, a division-level official of the Dongguan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited CATO Precision Machinery (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. to conduct a special field survey under the theme "Enhancing Basic Innovation and Key Technology R&D Capabilities to Boost Emerging Industries and Future Industrial Layout." The delegation included Zhong Zhengliang, member of the CPPCC Standing Committee and director of the Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports; Wang Qi, member of the CPPCC and deputy director of the Peking University Dongguan Optoelectronics Research Institute; officials from the Houjie Town CPPCC Committee and the Dongguan Electronic Computing Center; and Lin Cuimei, Deputy General Manager of CATO.
The delegation first visited the company’s self-developed technology exhibition area, gaining in-depth insight into key proprietary technologies such as CATO’s self-developed CNC system, high-precision electric spindle, linear motor direct drive, high-precision 5-axis cradle, and RTCP core algorithms. They observed live machining processes of the A‑series high-end equipment and inspected the precision machining center and flexible production line. The delegation inquired in detail about the company’s progress in high-end 5-axis machine tool R&D, core technology breakthroughs, and collaborative innovation along the industrial chain. They highly recognized CATO’s achievements in breaking foreign technical barriers and empowering key sectors such as aerospace and new energy vehicles. Lin Cuimei accompanied the visit and provided professional explanations throughout.
Lin Cuimei expressed gratitude for the care and support from the CPPCC. She stated that CATO focuses on three major tracks: aerospace, new energy vehicles, and humanoid robotics. Using its self-developed 5-axis high-end equipment, the company meets the precision machining needs of complex components, accelerates the localization process of machine tools, and deeply integrates into Dongguan’s industrial development layout. CATO will remain committed to its mission as a builder of industrial machine tools, increase R&D investment, tackle core technologies, deepen industrial chain collaboration, and strive to become a benchmark for high-end machine tools, contributing to the development of Dongguan as a strong manufacturing city.

The year 2026 marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan, with the state prioritizing support for high-end manufacturing and promoting industrial upgrading toward high-end, smart, and cluster‑oriented development. With mutual empowerment and concerted efforts between the government and enterprises, Dongguan’s high-end CNC equipment industry is poised for steady and sustained growth, ready to take off and write a new chapter in the high‑quality development of advanced manufacturing.
